SHENZHEN BRANDS set to go global

Shenzhen international underwear fair (siuf), china’s largest intimate apparel tradeshow, continues to take strategic strides to increase its international development.

Alongside a worldwide b2b matchmaking platform and a global fashion trend report, the expansion plan will bring collaboration with american and european fashion industry players to the next edition of SIUF.

Even as the company sets it sights on 2019, SIUF has already begun bridging east and west. Summer 2018 saw the establishment of the first Shenzhen overseas exhibition center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (USA). The opening ceremony boasted local dignitaries, such as Brenda Bethune, mayor of Myrtle Beach, as well as important Chinese figures, including Gao Lin, Director of Shenzhen Economic, Trade and Information Commission,and Zhang Fengwei, Vice President of the Shenzhen Underwear Association.

Comprised of an exhibition and a fashion show, the event welcomed 50 Shenzhen lingerie, loungewear,
sportswear, swimwear and menswear
brands, and a number of participating
labels used the event to springboard
new product releases. Most importantly
of all for exhibitors, the tradeshow led to
key meetings between Shenzhen brands
and North American buyers, and the
latest styles walked the runway in front of a full house of 200 seats.

Just a week later, sixteen Shenzhen brands appeared at the Apparel Sourcing USA tradeshow in New York City, where they stood out to viewers as well as to board members of the Underfashion Club. Now with a number of successful U.S. based industry events under its belt, Shenzhen has demonstrated it dedication to establishing an international platform for the underwear industry. The company aims to carry this momentum into 2019, further opening the door for fashion brands to grow globally. Intima Media Group, as an established long-term media partner of SIUF, will continue to take an active part in the event itself and help the international exchanges in order to facilitate new business opportunities from both sides.
